About 50Volts

Summary: 50Volts is a blog dedicated to covering the Mac scene and everything else related.

The Story: It all started during the 2006 summer vacation. Marvin was looking for a new project to get his hands dirty. He dipped his toes into some podcasting and video production, but finally fell in love with blogging. The rest, as they say, is history.

The blog used to cover all sorts of things from gadgets to the “Web 2.0″ trend (or fad, as some refer to it), but thankfully it now has a new direction. Today, 50Volts is all things Apple, although Marvin enjoys talking about his life every so often.

Who is Marvin Sum?

Meet Marvin, the 19-year old blogger behind 50Volts. Ever since he was a child, Marvin has always been fascinated by computers and the internet. He currently writes for this blog, which he created with his own two hands.

Marvin also writes for MacApper and AppleTell, two Mac-centric blogs. He currently lives in New Zealand and enjoys blogging, listening to some great podcasts, and poking fun at Microsoft. He also wants a souped-up iMac for Christmas.

Random Questions for Marvin

  • You’re a Sum? That’s such a cool name!
Erm, yea, I guess it is. Ironically though, I hate mental arithmetic, so I won’t be of any help with your math homework.
  • How do you afford all this gear?
Mostly through odd-jobs and summer jobs. My parents hardly ever purchase tech gear for me.
  • Why do you spell ‘realize’ as ‘realise’ and ‘color’ as ‘colour’?
Old habit of mine. I grew up using the British dictionary instead of the American dictionary.
  • Can I have my question here?
Sure. Email me (see address above) and I’ll put it here if it’s appropriate.
