It’s been a fairly long time since I’ve written anything here; but for a really good reason though. You see, valued reader, I’ve been busy with loads of other things elsewhere. Like organizing giveaways, doing some redesigning top-secret work and err, yet more top-secret work. Thankfully I’ve got a 2-week vacation lined up ahead, so you’ll be seeing more of me here.

The Return of 50Volts
Posted by Marvin on 14 Jun 2007, with 6 Thoughts »
As you can tell from the posting frequency over the past two weeks, I’ve been really busy with assignments and exams (just like a lot of other bloggers). Well, thankfully it’s all over, so not only are things back to normal, but I’ve got some great stuff to announce.
Goodbye Mac Mini, Hello “Mac”
Posted by Marvin on 03 Jun 2007, with 3 Thoughts »
As many readers will know, word on the street is that the 17” iMacs will be retired really soon. That seems rather logical, in light of declining component and manufacturing costs. What’s more interesting though, is that the Mac Mini is also rumored to receive the axe.
50Volts. Tweaked.

Regular readers would’ve noticed the new design that was progressively rolled out over the past week. Before you ask, this isn’t a full-fledged upgrade, just a moderate tweak to the original design.
Changes at Technorati
Posted by Marvin on 07 May 2007.
This morning while I was checking my stats on Technorati, I noticed a minor redesign. Nope, not a revolutionary new user interface, just a couple of refinements that are still worth talking about.

It’s been a slow week for news and content. Here are this week’s QuickBits:

Fixing Dell’s Troubles

Late last week, Michael Dell, CEO of Dell sent a company-wide memo. What was special was that the memo hinted at the possibility of Dell re-entering the retail channel, not just selling directly. This probably comes as a result of declining market share and revenue.

The OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) is a project that has been under the limelight for quite sometime. Initiated by MIT’s Media Lab, the goal was to create a $100 laptop to educate the world’s children. Well, there’s just one problem.

Waiting for Leopard? Keep Waiting
Posted by Marvin on 14 Apr 2007.
Bad news, folks. Leopard’s now delayed till October, and it’s all the iPhone’s fault. Turns out the iPhone “contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device”, so they’ve had to “borrow” a couple of engineers from the OS X team.
Is MySpace Still ‘My’ Space?
Posted by Marvin on 12 Apr 2007.
MySpace is in the news. Again. Nope, no one’s offering them some ridiculous amount of money, but remember when they blocked Revver videos and then Imeem widgets? Well, it’s PhotoBucket’s turn. The reason? Embedded advertising.
50Volts Launches!
Posted by Marvin on 10 Apr 2007, with 2 Thoughts »
The wait’s finally over because 50Volts launches today. The last few days were spent working out the minor kinks and bugs, so all is expected to sail smoothly from here on (or so I think).
The EMI and iTunes Deal: Better Offerings Coming?
Posted by Marvin on 08 Apr 2007.
Finally, after years of campaigning, non-DRM‘ed music will now soon be available from the iTunes music store. I don’t particularly enjoy being a parrot yakking at old news, so I’ll leave it at that. Otherwise, you can check it out here, here, here or even here.
Mozilla’s New “Coop”: My Thoughts

Social networks have been around since the dawn of “Web 2.0″. However, there has never been a way of aggregating all that data into one easily accessible and convenient place. Until now.
