Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) will be arriving later this year in October. For most people, 3 months is certainly a long time; plus, there is always the possibility of new hardware surfacing. In light of all that speculation, I’d like to answer the big question: is it worth waiting for a Leopard Mac (aka Leopard pre-installed on a Mac)?

I’m a Mac user. I’ve never been a fan of Windows because of security and the inconsistent look, but I recently decided to give it another chance. I recently made the switch from a desktop to a MacBook. One of the things I discovered was that my software needs changed drastically. Features like speed and ease-of-use were slowly being replaced with robust security and reliable backups.

Bad news, folks. Leopard’s now delayed till October, and it’s all the iPhone’s fault. Turns out the iPhone “contains the most sophisticated software ever shipped on a mobile device”, so they’ve had to “borrow” a couple of engineers from the OS X team.
