The Importance of an ‘About’ Page
I was browsing through several blogs last night (as I always do), when I started noticing something interesting. Most of them were in great shape; however there were a handful that caught my eye, for the wrong reason.
Why? These blogs lacked an ‘About’ page. Now, you might think that this is solely for privacy issues, but as a reader, I felt distanced and isolated. So here are 3 good reasons why you should always have an ‘About’ page on your website/blog.
1. It gives readers a sense of trust, because they know they’re not reading something that was written by a machine. Readers who trust you will keep returning.
2. Extend your online presence. It feels great to be famous, and also helps with job hunting as most employers now look up potential candidates on the web.
3. Adds your personal touch. Blogging is all about being personal. It’s about sharing your thoughts and experiences. Otherwise you end up being another faceless website.
Now that I have (hopefully) persuaded you to write an ‘About’ page, how do you go about doing it? And most importantly, how do you make it unique? Stay tuned to find out.

So very true! I’m always disappointed when a blogger doesn’t have an about page.
