Mac Blogging without Apple
As I was heading to bed last night, an interesting thought ran past my mind. It occurred to me that as Mac bloggers, we talk about things that directly and indirectly lead back to one company. Apple. What if Apple were to shut its doors tomorrow? What would happen to the Mac scene? Let’s examine both sides of the story.
Obviously, we would run out of things to say. I mean, there’s only so much to write about 30 years of Apple history. And don’t think for one second that you can cover third-party accessories. Without the Mac or the iPod, there won’t be a lot to talk about. Perhaps the iCase; a display case to preserve your mac for all eternity?
On the bright side, let’s suppose a bunch of Mac clones come along. Would the majority of Apple bloggers cover these new ‘Macs’? I think you will notice several reactions, namely those who would continue, those who would stop and some, like myself, who will sit on the fence for a little while. Perhaps we could look forward to AppleCloneInsider.com, or NewMacRumors.com?
Don’t get me wrong. As a Mac enthusiast, I want Apple to keep making great products that truly “wow”s me (and Steve Jobs for president!) But it’s certainly interesting to ponder a world without the Mac maker. What do you think?

I have never thought of a world without Apple, its truly weird just thinking about it.
