Earlier today I stumbled upon an interesting little tool that I think is worth sharing. Dane Carlson over at Business Opportunities has created a blog value calculator. If you’re a blogger, I’m sure you’ll be interested to discover how much your blog is worth.
How does it work? Well, it measures the number of incoming sources your blog has, and uses the same value that AOL payed for Weblogs Inc. If you haven’t heard of Weblogs Inc, you might have heard of their blogs (Engadget, TUAW, Autoblog, etc.)
Why the AOL/Weblogs Inc deal? That’s because the deal is the best example of the price traditional media will pay for blogs. AOL paid somewhere between $25 - 40 million, and with 44276 incoming sources for Weblogs Inc, this amounts to $564.64 - $903.42 per source.

The calculator assumes a value of $564.64 per source. Dane has also provided a little “widget” that allows you to show off your value on your blog. 50Volts is currently worth $2822.70, with 5 links from 5 blogs (according to Technorati). How much is yours worth?
